What is the difference between flower essences and essential oils (aromatherapy)?
An important difference between flower essences and essential oils is flower essences are unscented and fragrance-free.
Flower essences and essential oils are both natural products derived from plants, but they differ significantly in their composition, preparation, and purpose.
Flower Essences:Composition:
Flower essences (like Bach Flower Essences, for example) are water-based infusions that capture the energetic or vibrational qualities of flowers. They contain extremely small amounts of physical plant material.Preparation: Flower essences are typically made by floating flower blossoms in water and allowing the sun's energy to transfer the flower's vibrational imprint to the water. The water is then preserved with alcohol and diluted to create the final essence.Purpose:Flower essences are used for emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. They are believed to work on subtle energy levels to address imbalances in emotions, thought patterns, and behaviors. Flower essences are often associated with the holistic healing of emotional issues rather than the treatment of physical ailments.

They are extracted from various parts of plants, including flowers, leaves, stems, and roots.Preparation: Essential oils are obtained through processes such as steam distillation, cold pressing, or solvent extraction. These methods result in a concentrated oil that captures the aromatic and often therapeutic properties of the plant.Purpose:Essential oils are primarily used for aromatherapy, massage, and topical applications. They are valued for their fragrances and potential therapeutic effects, including antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and relaxation-inducing properties. Essential oils are commonly associated with physical well-being and are used in a variety of products, including perfumes, lotions, and diffusers. Do Custom Essence Blends contain allergens?
Like homeopathic remedies, flower essences do not include any physical remnants of the flowers they’re made from—just their energetic traces—so for the vast majority of people, flower essences themselves cannot trigger allergies or intolerance.
Are flower essences appropriate for people with allergies or special diets like gluten free? Flower essences are unscented and fragrance free, unlike essential oils.
Similar to vanilla extract, stock flower essences are preserved with alcohol—typically brandy. Custom Essence Blends' final product is a base of food-grade vegetable glycerine and 1-10 drops of different stock flower essences.
What's the difference between flower essences and extracts?
Flower essences and extracts are prepared differently and used for different indications.
Flower and plant extracts are created by exposing plant matter to a solvent like alcohol or boiling water which releases various biochemical compounds and scents from the vegetation. Extracts typically contain bio-active ingredients which are taken internally or externally to address a physical health issue.
Flower extracts are made by steeping flowers (and other natural items like gemstones) in spring water in direct sunlight. Flower essence practitioners believe the spring water absorbs the flower's subtle energetic vibrations. Biochemical compounds are often used to produce plant extracts. as would be the case with an extract. Flower essences are used to promote emotional balance and wellbeing.
Isn't this just the "placebo effect?"
A placebo is a dummy treatment against which real treatments are tested in clinical experiments. For example, in a clinical study, one group of volunteers gets the new drug. A second group gets a sugar pill that looks exactly like the new drug. A third group gets no treatment at all. What’s shocking about placebos is how often they out-perform real drugs in randomized studies! Even if the pill isn’t real, the placebo effect is, because the patient believes the pill is real. The belief and expectation—and the rituals and symbols surrounding medical care—are enough to make the subject’s brain to release hormones, neurotransmitters, and other chemicals that affect both the brain and the body. Could “anchoring” be responsible for the results some people get from flower essences?

The high vibrations and good habits from your training can become anchored to taking a flower essence.
What is your refund policy?
Because each blend is hand-crafted for you from scratch based on your specific personal goals, and can't be re-sold to anyone else, Custom Essence Blends does not offer refunds or exchanges.
How long does it take to process my order?
All orders are processed within 2 to 5 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped.
How do I check the status of my order?
When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available.
Do you ship to P.O. boxes?
To avoid problems involved with P.O. Boxes, please provide a residential address.
What if my shipment arrives damaged?
In the event that your order arrives damaged in any way, please email us as soon as possible at [email protected] with your order number and a photo of the item’s condition. We address these on a case-by-case basis and will try our best to work towards a satisfactory solution.
What if my order doesn't arrive?
If you haven’t received your order within 15 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at [email protected] with your name and order number so we can attempt to locate it.
